Elders of Turi Bangash tribes condemned the administration and media reports over falsely portrayed the killings of 7 Shia Muslims and one Sunni Muslims in two different incidents as land dispute between two tribes. They categorically rejected the claim made by Caretaker CM KPK Azam Khan and other officials of local administrant of KPK’s district Kurram.
On May 8, 2023, Turi Bangash tribes staged a protest on Sunday in the Parachinar area of the Province Khyber Pakhtunkhawa’s Kurram district against the killings of eight people in two separate shooting incidents on 4 May 2023. Protesters led by the eleders of Turi Bangash tribes demanded the immediate arrest of the killers.
According to reports appeared on official websites of Pakistan mainstream media, protesters being linked to Turi Bangash tribe marched on foot to the Parachinar Press Club against the massacre of Shia Muslims teachers and lower staff in Teri Mengal High School at Upper Kurram, KPK. Protesters condemned also the target killing of a Sunni teacher on road in a separate incident. In front of the Parachinar Press Club Syed Muhammas Akhlaq Hussain, Syed Muhammad and others addressed the protest rally.

“Local Administration, Caretaker Chief Minister KPK Azam Khan, Minister for Establishment and Administration Department Syed Masood Shah all misguided the nation while portraying the Parachinar killings on 4 May 2023 as result of land dispute between the tribes. There is no land dispute between Turi Bangash tribesmen with any one. Even mainstream media’s correspondents didn’t investigated the matter and dare to counter check the claim made by the local administration and caretaker government of the KPK”, said Syed Ikhlaq hussain , while addressing the protest rally.
Later elders of the Turi Bangash tribes held a press conference in Parachinar Press Club. During the press conference, elders of Turi Bangash tribes revealed that no one from provincial caretaker government and KPK education department bothered to even attend the funerals of slain teachers and the lower staff of Teri Mengal high school.

Syed Muhammad, Syed Ikhlaq Hussain, Syed Anayat Ali Turi general secretary of Anjuman Hussainia district Kurram, Agha Tajmal Hussain President of Hussaini Movement Kurram district and others rejected the claim made by local administration and the caretaker government about the Parachinar killings. They said that two separate incidents of shooting were not result of land dispute. They revealed that four Shia Muslim teachers and three lower staff of the Teri Mengal High School were first identified as Shia Muslims from Turi Bangash tribes, separated them from others teachers and the staff, then their hands and feet were tied with ropes, after they were hit by axes and slaughtered with knifes.
“It was the incident of Shia Muslims target killing not the killing due to land dispute between Mangal tribes and Turi Bangash tribes as falsely termed by the local administration and same misguided reports was on-aired and published by the Pakistan based media”, said Syed Anayat Ali, General Secretary of Anjuman Hussainia Kurram district.
According to a press release issued by the Turi Bangash tribe, the Parachinar killings were portrayed in the media and by the administration contrary to the facts.
The statement demanded the immediate arrest of the police constable present on duty at the school that day, the headmaster and also the class four employees on duty.
It added that a regular investigation should be initiated after the arrest of the above.
Mushran (Eleders) of Ahle-Sunnat from Lower and Upper Kurram visited the Central Imambargah in Parachinar on 7 May 2023 in the morning , they were received by Federal Minister of Pakistan Sajid Turi, General Secretary of Anjuman Hussainia district Kurram Anayat Ali Turi, President of Hussaini Movement Agha Tajamal Hussain at the main gate of the Imambargah. Elders of Ahle-Sunnat offered Fatehakhawani / prayers for the killed Shia Muslims in Teri Mengal High School Parachinar.
Elders of Ahle-Sunnat of Lower & Central Kurram including Ex. MNA Malik Fakhar Zaman, former MPA Riaz Shaheen, Haji Malik Saleem Khan, Maulana Shah Nawaz , Malik Hayat Khan , Malik Abdul Wali . Malik Ayaz Badshah , Malik Amjad Khan and other many prominent elders and leaders condoled to family of victims of target killings in Teri Mengal School shooting. They too rejected the claim made by local administration. It was not result of land dispute that led these killings, neither it had nothing to do with old historical differences between Shia and Sunni Islam.
“It is job of Takfiri terrorists belonged to organizations like Sipah-i-Sahabah Pakistan aka ASWJ, Lashakar-e-Jhangvi –LJ, TTP etc. . . Such sectarian terrorist organizations kill Shia Muslims to incite Shia-Sunni civil riots in tribal areas adjacent to Pak-Afghan border. We shall make fail their condemned attempt”, said Malik Fakhar Zaman former member of National Assembly Pakistan and a Sunni Pashtun elder.
Shia Muslim community in Pakistan is facing Slow Shia Genocide campaign from Takfiri extremist militant factions emerged from Deobandi sub sect of Sunni Islam. Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat –ASWJ aka Sipah-i-Sahabah Pakistan – SSP is mother of all such anti- Shia Muslim campaign in the country, founded by Haq Nawaz Jhangavi in 1984. State seems under pressure of Anti-Shia Muslim phobia based propaganda and it has become norm to register FIRs under Anti-Blasphemy laws against the Shia Muslims just over practicing over their religious faiths.
