The renowned Shia religious scholar in Pakistan, Allama Muhammad Amin Shaheedi, has expressed in a series of posts on X-App his concerns about the recent wave of genocide targeting Shia Muslims in Parachinar. He emphasizes that the attack by Takfiri terrorists on a convoy, under the protection of the Frontier Constabulary (FC), the killings of innocent Shia Muslims, and the apparent passive role of FC as a silent spectator to the violence have effectively made the Shia population hostages to the Takfiri terrorists. Consequently, Parachinar is now likened to the ‘Gaza of Pakistan.’

Following the martyrdom of numerous individuals in Parachinar over several days, essential supplies such as food, medicine, and oil have been blocked. Furthermore, there have been disruptions in electricity, phone, and internet services in Shia neighborhoods in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). In contrast, Takfiri terrorists have established base camps equipped with communication, internet facilities, and logistical support.

Shaheedi highlights that Parachinar’s Shia population is under constant mortar attacks from all sides, and the area is fully besieged. Notably, banned outfits, including Sipah Sahabah, Tehreek Taliban Pakistan, and Islamic State Khorasan Pakistan, have formed an alliance, jointly declaring a ‘War’ against the Shi’as of Kurram district. Despite this dire situation, media, rulers, national leaders, politicians, border security forces, and civil society remain silent and tight-lipped.
He laments the unity of Takfiri groups in Pakistan against the Shi’as of Kurram district, asserting that Sipah Sahaba, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, and TTP are mere pawns activated as needed. Shaheedi alleges that this is not the first war, recalling a previous five-year siege for resisting Pakistani militant groups’ access to Afghanistan. He insists that the same forces are perpetuating the conflict.
He further accuses powerful forces of making life difficult for the resilient people of Parachinar by framing the siege as a sectarian war. Shaheedi questions the lack of action by institutions responsible for protecting the international border, expressing concern about the entry of armed Afghan fighters with combat weapons from the Afghan side.
