We the American Shia and Sunni Muslims condemn the brutal killings of peaceful American Shia Muslims in Albuquerque New Mexico based on their religious identity.

The Victims included Mohamed Afzaal Hussain 27 who had recently completed his Masters’s degree

All of these victims were family men, valuable contributors, and taxpayers. They were killed for their Shia identity. One of the victims is a Sunni with a Shia-sounding name.

We the people believe and support the freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition.

We are petitioning the Federal, State, and local Governments to take note of the strong growing undercurrents of support for Takfiri Deobandi ideology in our country under the auspice of Islamophobia.

While we understand, agree, and support the awareness and rhetoric of Islamophobia but this should not mean the State should not be concerned about this or mitigate pragmatic actions to curtail the fastest growing violent Islamic fragment of the Takfiri Deobandi movement.

We have seen in the recent past the lone wolf abilities of followers of this ideology in this country and the recent killing of American Shia Muslims in New Mexico is a manifestation of the same phenomenon.

Their ideology and its puritanical exclusivity are not hidden and are now openly preached and practiced in broader Sunni denomination and non-denomination locations throughout the United States.

It is unfortunate that Shia Muslim Genocide has come to this country. The present unchecked freedom of propagation of Takfiri evangelicalism in the US has an unapologetic overt pragmatism in its core with strong religious enticement and potential of violence against Sufi Sunni, Jews, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and people of all faiths are targeted as seen in 9/11 and multiple other past events.

This is also evidenced by the foiled attack on a Shia Mosque and Jewish Synagogue by the same mindset a few months ago:

We demand:

1. Strong measures to curtail the freedom of promotion of Takfiri ideology in our country with surveillance of mosques and social media of Wahhabi Salafi or Deobandi hate preachers.

2. All Muslim and non-Muslim organizations refrain from making a false Shia Sunni binary. Clearly, Sunni Sufi, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, and all other faiths are targets as their teachings indicate explicitly.

3. We call upon Federal, State & Local governments as well as rights organizations, journalists, and law enforcement to express solidarity with the Shia Muslims of America who are the primary targets and victims of Takfiri Islamist hate and dehumanization for 1400 years.

4. Establish research and think tanks to study the grassroots effects of this ideology and its future potential which at present is anecdotally reported.

The Anti-Shia protests of Karachi, Pakistan have left : 270 injured and 130 brutally killed just in the course of a few days. These people were bombed, shot, stabbed, raped and burned to death by their own Muslim brothers because of their sect. This is domestic terrorism and humanity at its lowest in our country and yet the government is silent. Is this what our Holy Prophet taught us? To mercilessly kill people of different beliefs or sects? To destroy their places of worship? To burn them alive? To attack them, shoot them, stab them, rape them just because they are of a different sect? This is not something to be taken lightly, this is a humanitarian crisis and on route to becoming one of the biggest genocides in history of Pakistan.
