Islamabad: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Human rights, Riaz Hussain Pirzada had said that Shi’a Muslim’s right to practice the religion is being violated by the law enforcement agencies. Police cases are being registered against Shi’a Muslims just over practicing their religious duties. They are bound to grant permission even a mourning of Imam Hussain meeting in their houses under boundary walls. They are bound to end their Majalis-i-Aza (Mourning meetings) in a given time, over exceeding the given time , organizers either face cases under 295-A or under section 141 of PPC ( Unlawful assembly) or their names have been put into Fourth Schedule List (List of names of Proscribed persons,   “Proscribed Person means any person or entity who Premium reasonably believes to be (i) in breach of the laws of any jurisdiction regarding economic or trade sanctions, or laws prohibiting money laundering or terrorism financing, or (ii) on a list of persons).”

“Members of Shi’a Council met me. He told me that hundreds of Shi’as Muslims were facing criminal cases registered mostly in Police Stations in Punjab because of practicing their religious duties in the month of Muharram. Even there are many Shi’as persons’ name have been put in the Fourth Schedule list”, Said Riaz Hussain Pirzada, He was talking on point of order in the session of National Assembly.

‘It is ridiculous that government is negotiating with banned terrorist organization TTP, who killed thousands of innocent Pakistani citizens. Our tall political leadership was targeted to kill by TTP but police cases are being registered against the peaceful Shia Muslims just over practicing their religion and belief. Is it justice?”, Riaz Hussain Pirzada raised a question.

He revealed that in 1995 his father was assassinated by Sipah SahaBA ‘s terrorists in Khairpur Tamewali at his residence. He was MNA at that time but couldn’t prevent the judge from granting the bail the two culprits.

“I refrained myself to go to Police or request to the court because both had been compromised at that time”, said Riaz Pirzada.

He had submitted a file having all detail of the criminal cases registered falsely against Shi’a Muslims to Speaker National Assembly Pakistan Raja Parvez Asharaf.

‘I have written a letter to all Home Secretaries, IGs of all provinces and ask them not to register even a single case against the Shi’a Muslim just over practicing their religious duties now’, Said Riaz Pirzada during his speech on Point of order.

Shi’a Muslims are facing religious discrimination from society and the state both. Takfiri anti-Shi’a Muslim lobbies in state institutions in sections and layers of civil society  led by Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan aka Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal-Jamat -ASWJaka Lashkar-i-Jhangvi – LJ are running genocidal campaign. Registration of FIRs against Shi’a Muslims is part of that genocidal campaign. Hundreds of Shi’a Muslims are facing Police cases due to chanting the slogan ‘Ya Ali’, over just waving Alam-i-Abbas at their roofs of the houses, Shops , public place , over organizing a Majlis-i-Hussain.
