Narrative of the Event

On March 4, 2001, a series of tragic events unfolded, resulting in the deaths of twelve individuals, including two constables, and injuring six others. The first incident occurred at 9:35 am in Main Bazar, where six masked assailants on motorcycles opened fire on shopkeeper Syed Kazim Shah, killing him and injuring passer-by Mushtaq. The second attack transpired at the Eidgah graveyard near Karbala Mohalla on Jandial Road, where the assailants, having scaled the boundary wall, fired on a gathering, claiming seven lives. Subsequently, the terrorists targeted a crowd on Railway Road near Ghalla Mandi, killing two people. The final incident on Hafizabad Road near Mirza Virkan resulted in the deaths of two police constables, Abdul Ghafoor and Munir, who were pursuing the terrorists. The constables were shot and killed during the exchange of fire in Mirza Virkan.
