Narrative of the Event
On 10th Muharram 1399 (December 10, 1978), an anti-Shia-charged mob led by goons of Tanzeem-i-Ahle-Sunnat-TAS attacked the main Ashura procession in Karachi, and 8 Shi’a Muslims were injured.
On Muharram this year, attacks on Ashura processions were reported in most cities in Punjab and Sindh. These attacks were organized by TAS all over the country.
