Narrative of the Event

On October 4, 2001, two unidentified assailants on a motorbike opened fire indiscriminately at the people offering Maghribain prayers at Shi’a Muslim Mosque ‘Masjid-wa-Imambargah Ali Murtaza in street 3, Azam Town, Mehmoodabad Karachi. Six Shia Muslim worshippers were killed and seven were injured.

Those killed in the firing included two children under the age of 13.
