Narrative of the Event

On October 6, 2006, militants with anti-Shia sentiments carried out a devastating attack on the Shia shrine of Syed Mir Anwar Shah, also known as Mian Sahib, claiming the lives of 18 Shia individuals. The tomb of Syed Mir Anwar Shah is situated in Kalaya, a village in Tirah (Orakzai Agency), with the responsibility for its management and maintenance resting with the Shia Muslim community.
