October 11,2024, Parachinar: Attack on Vehicles Carrying Shia Muslims Kills 11. Two separate incidents of firing and clashes in Kurram district have left 11 people dead, authorities said. The first incident occurred yesterday in the Kunj Alizai area of Maqbal’s mountains, within the jurisdiction of Roza Police Station, where some individuals reportedly went for hunting and came under attack.
The second incident took place this morning, also in the Roza Police Station’s jurisdiction, when gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on a convoy of passenger vehicles. The convoy, consisting of private cars and multiple travelers, was under police security, as is customary for travel in the district due to the ongoing tensions and risks.
Travelers in Kurram district typically move in police-escorted convoys to ensure safety amid sectarian violence and security threats. Investigations into both incidents are underway, with efforts intensified to identify the attackers.
