Narrative of the Event
On February 26, 2002, three terrorists came on motorbikes outside the Shi’a Mosque/Imambargah Shah-e-Najaf in Khayaban-i-Sir Syed, Sector 4, Rawalpindi, when Maghrabain prayers were being offered. Two of the assailants walked into the mosque and locked the door from inside, and the third one stood outside. Two assailants sprayed the bullets on worshipers; 10 were killed at the spot, one passed away in the hospital, and 16 were injured.
