Narrative of the Event
On 17 February 2005, Two suicide bombers blew themselves up in a house after a heavy exchange of fire with police on the Ghalzai Street at around Thursday mid-night in Quetta.
They were planning a suicide attack on the Sunday Ashura procession on the Alamdar road, police said, adding that the police raid on the house had foiled their plan.
“The documents and slogans written on the walls of the room and bullets show that the terrorists belonged to Lashkar-i-Jhangvi,” he said. “Probably they wanted to attack Alam or Ashura procession that starts from the area where the house is located,” Chaudhary Yaqoob told a questioner. He said that had the terrorists succeeded in carrying out their plan, they would have caused huge losses of lives.
