Multan- Punjab Police has booked many Shi’as Muslims under different articles of Pakistan Penal Code-PPC including 295A in different Police Stations in Multan district of Punjab. Shi’a Muslims were booked due to their participation in ‘Arbaeen Walks’ held in different areas of Multan.
According to ShiiteNews, Multan Police Station ‘Thana Basti’ registered a FIR against the participants of Arbaeen Walk started from Imambargah Qasar-i-Abu Talib on the eve of Chehlum Imam-i-Hussain. Second FIR against the participants of Arbaeen Walk started from Imambargah Hussainia Hasan Abad colony in Police Station New Multan.
Police Station Alapa registered a FIR against Shi’a Muslims who had participated in Arbaeen Walk started from the area of Sahi Chawan in Multan.
Police Station Bahauddin Zakaria registered a FIR against the participants of Arabaeen Walk started from Imambargah Ghazabad.
Thereby FIRS were registered against the participants in Arbaeen Walks started from Soraj Miani, from Imambargah Shahzada Ali Akbar, Imambargah Alushah wali and Haideria Mosque, one in Police Stations Sadar and three in Police Station Gulgushat Multan.
In Police Stations Shah Shams, Delhi gate and Jalalpur three FIRs were registered against the participants of Arbaeen Walks from the area of New Central Jail Multan, Imambargah Jawadia and Jalalpur Pirwala respectively.
Administrator (Matwali) of Imambargah Abu Fazal Alabbas Syed Asad Abbas Bukhari told SMG website,’ 14 FIRs were registered against Shi’a mourners on the eve of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (A.S) in 9 Police Stations of District Multan in Punjab.
Print Media only reported the FIRs registered in many Police stations of Multan districts against many people over chanting anti-government slogans but didn’t mention that Police cases had been registered against the people belonged to Shi’a Muslims over participation in informal processions of Chehlum-i-Imam-i-Hussain.
