Masjid/Imambargah Mehfile-e-Murtaza is situated in a posh area at Kashmir Road, Karachi.
It was Saturday 24th Ramzan, 25th February 1995 at close to 0710 PST, the residents of the area were surprised to hear the sound of heavy gun fire.
Some nearby residents saw a white car running speedily from the side of Mehfil-E-Murtaza in which about five people were sitting.
When the residents reached at the spot, they saw bodies of 16 Shiite Muslims lying one the floor of Imambargah with blooded bodies.
Out of which two wounded people survived whereas 18 died at the spot and two in the way to hospital.
In Mehfil-e-Murtaza, Shi’a Muslims were gathered after morning prayer for funeral arrangements of a person.
Meanwhile, the terrorists of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan a terrorist organization of Deobandi Sunni Hanafi sect entered in to the mosque and compelled all the participants to stand in a row by the side of the wall of the Imambargah and after that spread bullets upon them.
About 130 empty covers of the bullets were found at the floor after this tragic incident.
All the Shi’a Muslims who were with fasting (Roza) were shoot martyred on the upper portion of neck, which means that terrorists were well trained.
All the victims were attached by social and cultural organizations and they condemned the mass murder of Shia Muslims.
Incident of Mehfil-e-Murtaza happened on the same day and just after two hours of the incident of Imambargah Abul-Fazal-Abbas which is situated in P.I.B colony about 2 two km away from Mefil-e-Murtaza.
As usual all the terrorists are still at large killing innocent Shiite Muslims across Pakistan and government has been failed to protect the citizens.
