Ashiq Naveed B.A a Shi’a Muslim Zakir* was gunned down by mercenary of Threek-i-Labaik a Takfiri organization during a religious gathering (Majlis-i-Aza) at house situated at Mohala Nabi Pathan in Sialkot, a city of Punjab in Pakistan.
Ashiq Naveed B.A renowned religious figure of Shi’a Muslims community in Pakistan was addressing a Majlis-i-Aza (Mourning gathering of commemorating the Martyrs of Karbala) at a house situated at Nabi Pathan colony in Sialkot the city of Punjab in Pakistan, when he was targeted with gun fire. He severe injured and shifted to local hospital in very critical condition. Doctors made efforts to save his life but he passed away.
People caught the killer at the spot and was identified as Zeeshan alias Ismail and he is allegedly member of Tehreek-i-Labaik’s Ashraf Jalali faction, a Takfiri radical extremist far right religious political party emerged from Sunni Bareillvi sect. Its members are involved in killing of the people of Jamat-i-Ahmadiyya of Pakistan also.
Target killer Zeeshan alias Ismail son of Muzaffar Ali is resident of a Kanwan Lut Daska subdivision (Tehsil) of district Sialkot in Punjab. According to Police sources, the target killer entered into Majlis-i-Aza in garb of a TV journalist to live coverage of the event.

The murderer has been arrested red-handed by the mourners, from whom a number of pistols and a large number of loaded magazines have been recovered.
According to the eyewitnesses, the assailant was already present on Farsh-e-Aza (Majlis place) disguise him as a video recording person and he fired at Naveed Ashiq BA and the bullet hit him in the heart.
Mainstream print, electronic media blacked out the incident of target-killing of Ashiq Naveed. As usual obfuscated the incident of Shi’a Muslim killings.
Shi’a Muslim community in Pakistan is being persecuted. It is target of very organized campaign of genocide run by a vast network of Takfiri radical extremist anti-Shi’a groups mostly emerged from Sunni Deobandi sect like Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, Islamic State Khorasan-IS-Khorasan, Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan-TTP, Jaish-i-Muhammad-JM. All anti-Shi’a Muslim militant groups have their roots in Sipah-i-Sahabah Pakistan-SSP a radical Deobandi anti-Shia organization founded by a Deobandi cleric Haq Nawaz Jhangvi in1985. SSP was patronized by the dictator General Zia-ul-haq and funded by Al-Saud the rulers of Saudi Arabia. SSP is now functional as Ahle Sunnat Wal Jammat-ASWJ headed by Muhammad Ahmad Ludhianvi from Jhang. This organization is running a persecution campaign leading to Shi’a Muslim Genocide in Pakistan. Its anti-Shi’a propaganda even transfused into minds of some groups of Sunni Bareillvi groups like TL Jalali faction.
According to Shi’a human rights defenders, more than 25000 Shi’a Muslims including renowned Shi’a scholars, doctors, politicians, business men, high qualified professionals, women and children have been targeted to kill. Hundreds of Imambargahs, Shi’a Mosques, mourning processions and mourning sittings (Majilis) have been came under lethal attacks.
In Shi’a Muslims the term ‘Zakir’ or ‘Zakir-i-Ahulul Bayt’ defines such religious figure who recites the virtues, suffering and events of lives of the family members of the Holy Prophet Muhammad A.S in the religious gathering of the community (In Shi’a Islam mourning sittings of commemoration of Ahlul Bayt are called Majalis-i-Aza)
